Growth and earning profit alone is not the objective of the company but also to part with a portion of its earning / profit for the welfare of the society which is responsible for the company’s growth, particularly the economically poor, women and physically and mentally challenged. These activities are implemented through Sakthidevi Charitable Trust a social arm of Sakthi Masala Group of Companies. Thus the company fulfills its corporate social responsibility as per the expectation of the State. SAKTHIDEVI CHARITABLE TRUST was founded in the year 1997 by Dr. P.C. Duraisamy, Managing Director & Dr. SanthiDuraisamy, Director, Sakthi Masala Group of Companies to promote the cause of community development. The trust renders services for upliftment of physically challenged and mentally retarded, helps poor students to pursue their education, mass tree plantations and to promote tree plantation activities by supplying saplings at free of cost.
SAKTHIDEVI CHARITABLE TRUST, to help the downtrodden is running a charity hospital SAKTHI HOSPITAL for the society, free medical consultation and medicines at subsidized rate are offered to the public especially to physically challenged and spastic children through specialist doctors in the fields like Ortho, Gynecology, General medicine, Pediatric, Dental, Skin, ENT, Psychiatric and Nutrition & Dietetics. The above project was commenced on 22.05.2002 at an initial cost of Rs.50.00 lakhs and subsequently sizable amount was spent for additional buildings construction, for purchase of medical equipments with updated versions.
Two special schools and early intervention centre are being run by the trust for Intellectual disabled children and for the children afflicted with autism up to the age of 14 years at free of cost. After offering through training by the special educators they become eligible to get admitted in regular schools. Slow learning children studying in the surrounding villages are given special training by special educators in the evening sessions to improve their learning skills. The schools are approved by the State Commissioner for differently abled, Government of Tamil Nadu. Yearly more than 120 disabled students are being benefitted.
The trust runs a rehabilitation centre in the name of
SAKTHI REHABILITATION CENTRE
in about 10,000 Sq.ft.
are where due trainings / treatments are offered employing
qualified staff in each area, at free of cost to the physically
and Intellectual disabled children. Free special medical treatments
like physiotherapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy are being
given to improve the health, confidence level and to carry out their
daily needs by themselves. Morethan 200 differently abled are being
benefitted throughout the year.
Right to education is the new law enacted by the Government. The trust understood this 21 years ago and offer educational assistance every year to over 650 economically backward students to pursue higher studies. This programme also encourages the Government school students who score first and second place in 10th & higher secondary exams in each school of the Erode District. The students are offered cash awards and books of lives of achievers.
To guide the less privileged government school
students towards active and responsible citizenship,
year long wholesome development programmes like leadership
development programmes, skills development programmes like spoken
English classes, computer training programmes, home science, electrical
and electronic coaching classes are organized. Libraries in the name
Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam
are established and the students are
inculcated the habit of reading to make them more knowledgeable.
Every year about 10000 students are benefitted. Initiated in the year
2016 twenty five girl students from the Government Higher Secondary
Schools of Erode District are sent to Sathyabama University, Chennai
to pursue higher studies of their choice among Arts, Science and
Engineering streams.
A massive tree plantation programme "THALIR" was launched in 1997 to make this earth green. saplings are grown for over 2 years and distributed to Educational Institutions, Government Offices, Voluntary Organization at free of cost. They are motivated to guard and care the saplings. Annual awards are presented to those who maintain the saplings in the best possible manner.
On request from Government / Municipal / Panchayat Schools for construction of additional blocks, Library block, toilets, compound wall, water facilities, etc, the Trust has been donating money for the construction of buildings etc, through Parents Teachers Associations in various rural places in Erode district.
A unique project "JEEVAN" a basic life supporting training programme is being conducted every month from September 2008 for the NCC, NSS, Youth Red Cross, Social Service League Students, Public Service Personnel and other volunteers in partnership with Indian Medical Association Nursing Home Board. This programme will be conducted for 4 years for the benefit of the general public.
A comprehensive solution for higher education for the economically weaker students. Virutcham has initiated a project in 2018, providing entire course fees including examination fees to the children from Agricultural families studying in Vellalar Educational Institutions, Erode. Every year more than 50 students are being given admission through this project.

levels, the Trust has actively taken up desilting ponds and lakes,
constructing check dams across streams and lakes in Erode District.
Such check dams were constructed in Sengodampalayam lake, Jambai
Kalungu Kulam lake in Bhavani Taluk, Pulavarpalayam in Kanjikovil
Town Panchayat and desilting a 24 acre pond in Chinnavettuvapalayam
near Perundurai.

in order to offer a quality life and to live with pride.
More than 120 differently abled persons are working and make
a honorable living.
